A Message from the Commander

My name is Larry Morrison, and I am honored to serve as Commander of American Legion Post 167 in Chatsworth. It has been my great privilege to be entrusted with this position for over 20 years. During that time, I have had the opportunity to serve alongside many talented and dedicated officers whose commitment and hard work have made our Post both successful and highly respected within the community.

I proudly served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard for 16 years, with assignments in Korea, stateside locations, and during Operation Desert Storm. My military roles included Military Policeman and Tank Commander. Military service is a strong tradition in my family—I am married with three children, two of whom also served in the military, and I am the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren, one of whom served in the U.S. Army as well.

I would like to extend a personal invitation for you to visit and join American Legion Post 167 and help us continue our mission of service to veterans and to our Chatsworth community.

There are several ways to become part of our Legion Family through the organizations affiliated with our Post: The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, and the American Legion Riders.

Post meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., followed by a free meal for all who attend. The Legion Riders, who also belong to other Legion branches, meet on the second Monday of each month to remain accessible to both organizations. All four divisions play an integral role in supporting our Post and its mission.

In addition, Post 167 maintains an active Honor Guard, providing military honors and final rites for our fallen comrades.

If you are a veteran or related to a veteran, we would be honored to welcome you as part of our family.

For God and Country,
Larry Morrison
